MICHAEL KIRK
Musical Theatre Production Assistant
Michael is very excited to be joining the musical theatre team once again. Michael started off as a student at Studio West going through the musical theatre program him self playing parts in “Seussical the musical and one of his favourite parts ever Lord Farquaad in “Shrek the musical”. Michael then joined the teaching team last year for their production of Peter Pan Jr.
Michael has been performing most of his life, starting in film at the age of nine and proceeding to go to college for film at Vancouver Film School.
Michael has experience in many areas of the theatre which makes him a great resource for his students. He has experience being an actor on the stage playing roles such as Gaston in “Beauty and the Beast”, Kristoff in “Frozen the musical” and Mufasa in “The Lion King” he has also been choreographing and assistant choreographing over half a dozen shows like “Mamma Mia”(secondary Characters), “Matilda the Musical (DYT)” and “Newsies”(DYT) Michael also made his directing debut last year, directing “Ordinary Days” with (Delta Players) and this year has the honour of getting to be the assistant director of Studio West’s production of Willy Wonka.
